Job Overview
The Human Resources Generalist will assist with the daily functions of human resources across multiple client schools. Responsibilities include administering pay, benefits, leave and enforcing company policies, while supporting employee onboarding, development and separation processes.
Essential Functions
- Administer HRIS systems for classification, compensation, recruitment, and benefits management.
- Assist with the entire employee experience from onboarding through separation.
- Manage routine tasks in compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, investigations, and performance management.
- Support school leaders by updating job descriptions and facilitating HR training.
- Participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations with the Director of Human Resources.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and policies.
- Travel to charter schools (10-25% travel) for board meetings and support.
- Maintain awareness of trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in HR.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of three years of HR experience.
- Strong multitasking skills with outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Passion for Minga Education Group's mission.
- Self-starter and disciplined; SHRM-CP highly desired.
Physical Requirements & Background Checks
Candidates must be able to sit for long periods, work on a computer, and occasionally lift up to 15 pounds. Mandatory biometric background checks adhere to strict criteria concerning violent crimes, offenses against children, drug offenses, and certain felony and misdemeanor convictions.
