Submerged Arc Seam Welder
Millerbernd Manufacturing is recruiting a Submerged Arc Seam Welder to join the Transportation & Infrastructure team. The role involves setting up and operating a submerged arc seam welding machine to place continuous welds on one or both sides of pole shafts.
Key Responsibilities
- Fuse metal pole shafts using the Submerged Arc Welding process.
- Interpret prints, drawings, and specifications.
- Set up work and determine operational sequences.
- Operate and perform general maintenance on welding equipment.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations and use hand tools for measurements.
- Utilize an overhead crane to move pole shafts.
- Monitor production boards and accurately enter job data.
- Achieve AWS SAW certification within 90 days.
- Ensure weld quality passes NDT examinations.
- Escalate equipment or quality issues as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience with welding.
- Successful attainment of AWS SAW certification within 90 days.
- Prefer graduation from an accredited trade school for welding.
- Ability to read internal manufacturing paperwork, blueprints, and weld symbols.
- Familiarity with weld setup parameters and basic shop math.
- Team-oriented with problem-solving skills.
