About the Practice Assistant Role at Practice Assistant
Midi Health is seeking a highly organized and detail‑oriented Practice Assistant to support clinical and administrative operations in a fully remote U.S.-based environment. This role is critical in coordinating documents, managing patient requests, referrals, and medical records to enhance care delivery and clinician productivity.
Core Responsibilities
- Clinical Documents & Chart Management: Review and route document requests and ensure proper filing in the EMR.
- Administration of Phone & Messaging: Triage inbound admin calls and messages, escalate when needed.
- Medical Records Coordination: Handle incoming records, upload, index, and follow up on missing data.
- Slack Channel Operations: Monitor and manage Medical Records Slack requests and escalation processes.
- Referrals Processing: Initiate, track, and confirm referrals and consult orders.
- Post‑Visit Documents: Execute document delivery workflows following patient visits.
Qualifications
Experience in telehealth operations, medical assistant support, or virtual healthcare administration is required. Proficiency with EMR systems (Athena) and communication platforms like Slack is a must. Candidates should have strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, and knowledge of healthcare terminology and HIPAA compliance. Basic technical proficiency using videoconference tools is also necessary.
Preferred qualifications include being a Certified Medical Assistant Administrative (CMAA) or equivalent, experience handling referrals and prior authorizations, and bilingual abilities (English/Spanish) or familiarity with diverse patient populations.

Work Hours & Benefits
Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm. Compensation is $18-20/hr for full-time (40hr/week, non-exempt). Benefits include health, dental, and paid time off in a 100% remote work environment at a fast-growing, mission-driven healthcare startup.
