Technical Writer (Contract)

Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft.

Summary

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage repositories that support agent-driven workflows, including structure, documentation, and contribution guidance
  • Create and refine AI agent instructions, prompts, and supporting content using low-code or declarative approaches
  • Coordinate with engineering partners on the creation and evolution of server architectures, ensuring clarity, usability, and maintainability of related artifacts
  • Apply content design principles to agent experiences, internal tools, and system documentation
  • Ensure alignment with existing design systems and content guidelines across all deliverables
  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or scalability issues in agent and repository workflows and propose actionable improvements
  • Contribute occasional light frontend development work, including small interface adjustments, prototypes, or tooling surfaces
  • Maintain repository health and usability by managing templates, structures, and contribution processes
  • Facilitate efficient collaboration among content designers and partner teams to ensure content guidelines are correctly integrated across systems

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Content Designer, UX Writer, UX Designer, Frontend Developer, or similar role working on complex systems or tools
  • Demonstrated experience working on content design and UX systems
  • Proven track record using source repositories in professional settings
  • Experience creating declarative agents and actively using them in workflows
  • Portfolio or artifact submission demonstrating relevant experience, such as a short presentation outlining relevant projects or examples of agent instructions, content systems, or repository-based work
  • Strong written communication skills, particularly for instructions, guidelines, and system documentation
  • Hands-on experience working in repositories, including issues, pull requests, and contribution documentation
  • Comfort working with low-code or declarative systems, particularly for automation or AI-driven workflows
  • Familiarity with design systems and content standards, with ability to apply them consistently
  • Strong systems thinking and ability to identify patterns and scalability opportunities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, design, and product partners
  • Experience working with AI agents and automated systems
  • Working knowledge of frontend technologies
  • Experience shaping reusable patterns or standards adopted by other teams

Additional Details

  • Location: Remote
  • Duration: 3 months
  • Pay Range*: $41.50 - $47 per hour
  • Weekly Schedule: 40 hours
  • Job Status: Non-Exempt
