About the Role

We are seeking a Strategic Account Technology Strategist to synthesize business insights and lead global teams in delivering innovative solutions. You will act as a virtual Chief Technical Officer, providing account thought leadership, leveraging deep knowledge of Microsoft solutions, industry trends, and customer needs. Your role will involve translating customer business objectives into technical strategies and roadmaps, driving digital transformation, and acting as the voice of the customer within Microsoft.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer and Industry Insights: Apply expertise and thought leadership to identify industry trends, customer challenges, and opportunities. Synthesize insights from various sources to develop strategic recommendations for account management and customer solutions.
  • Differentiated Value Proposition: Partner with senior customer executives to articulate how Microsoft's complex technology and services will meet future business needs and drive long-term growth. Act as a Technology Mentor, advising on solutions and aligning Microsoft capabilities with customer requirements.
  • Education and Thought Leadership: Lead customer technology engagements, influencing technical resources towards business transformation. Deliver regular industry and technology briefings, and create enablement plans for key customers.
  • Mapping and Account Planning: Establish best practices for account planning, including budgeting, quota attainment, and consumption goals. Coordinate complex account teams, drive forecasting, and own the technical portion of the account plan.
  • Technology Sales: Demand Generation and Orchestration: Lead Account Strategy Envisioning, creating new opportunities and managing the consumption pipeline. Drive digital transformation initiatives, especially in AI and Industrial Metaverse, by plotting foundational technology roadmaps and immediate opportunity pipelines.
  • Technology Strategy Formulation: Create mid- and long-term technology and business roadmaps for strategic accounts based on deep understanding of business and technology priorities. Lead the translation of customer business objectives into effective Industry Technology Architectures to drive consumption and adoption of Microsoft cloud services.
  • Trusted Advisor: Leverage broad knowledge of Microsoft's product landscape and solutions to address customer needs. Coordinate with internal and external experts to build industry and competitive landscape knowledge. Act as the voice of the customer, providing feedback to internal teams and driving action.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of technical consulting, technical consultative selling, business consulting, practice building, or related technical/sales experience.
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud background check.
  • Requires U.S. citizenship due to support for U.S. government agency customers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field AND 12+ years of relevant experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in a relevant customer industry.
  • 6+ years of experience in digital transformation or using technology to drive customer business outcomes.

Location and Travel

  • Must live within a 2-hour drive of the Washington D.C. area.
  • More overnight travel is required if residing more than 2 hours away.
