Overview

The Solution Engineer Cloud & AI Infrastructure at Microsoft proactively engages key customer technical decision makers and influencers, supporting sales strategy and complex technical wins. This role leverages deep technical, domain, and industry expertise to build credibility, drive competitive selling strategies, and collaborate with local account teams, marketing, and partners.

Responsibilities

Build Strategy: Develop competitive knowledge, document patterns, and share insights within the community. Collaborate with account and marketing teams to shape strategic win and customer success plans, and build consumption plans with partner coordination.

Education & Thought Leadership: Build readiness plans, identify learning gaps, and provide technical thought leadership by sharing best practices, delivering event content, and mentoring the tech community.

Leverage Partner Ecosystem: Scale wins through partner collaborations, monitor partner resources, and identify new partnership opportunities to strengthen subsidiary strategies.

Scale Customer Engagements: Engage and monitor technical blockers by coordinating with product teams to ensure complex technical wins across multiple teams and geographies.

Solution Design and Proof: Oversee solution demonstrations, proof of concept sessions, and hackathons, adjusting architecture patterns to meet complex customer requirements.

Qualifications

Required: Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years technical pre-sales/consulting experience, or equivalent alternative qualifications.

Preferred: 8+ years technical pre-sales, consulting, or technology delivery experience; strong expertise in cloud, hybrid solutions, and on-premise infrastructures; relevant certifications (e.g., Office 365, Power BI, Azure Architect).
