About the Software Engineer II Role at Microsoft

If so, this is a wonderful and rare opportunity in the Windows Agility team that develops techniques for Windows Delivery management for retail audience.

We play a key role in securing and shipping monthly features to our customers while keeping a healthy continuous experience that makes our customers love Windows. Our team is a full-stack powerhouse that manages technologies ranging from Azure platforms, Build Pipelines, AI models, Kusto Query Language, Azure DevOps, feature code scans and analysis, and manipulating end-user features through code flow efficiency. We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer II that has a passion for developing tools and services that enable the Windows organization to deliver new features. You will collaborate with other experienced engineers to deliver seamless feature updates to customers. Responsibilities of a Software Engineer II

  • Enhancing and innovating the tools relied upon by thousands of Windows engineers to deliver their features.
  • Facilitating teams for faster code to in market with new ideas swiftly and efficiently, collaborating with partners to revolutionize the way engineers deliver features and validate contentious assumptions.
  • Designing, implementing, and communicating code flow processes and workflows related to feature management.
  • Innovate and bring cutting edge solutions to run AI models as applicable to team.
  • Reviews current developments and proactively seek new knowledge that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated excellence in coding and technical communication.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and debugging skills.
  • Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including, but not limited to: Java, C/C++, C#, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell.
  • Experience in owning a responsibility of components or feature areas.
  • The ability to multi-task while balancing short-term and long-term tasks.
  • Customer focus and data driven approach.
  • End-to-end Delivery and Innovation.
