SCHIE delivers the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses, including Bing, MSN, Office 365, Xbox Live, Teams, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform globally. As Microsoft's cloud business continues to grow, the ability to deploy new offerings and hardware infrastructure on time, in high volume with high quality and lowest cost is paramount. The SCHIE Firmware Center of Excellence (FW CoE) team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale, and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware. We seek engineers with a dedicated passion for customer-focused solutions, insight, and industry knowledge to envision and implement future technical solutions for managing and optimizing Cloud infrastructure.
Job Opening: Sr. Technical Program Manager
We are looking for a Sr. Technical Program Manager to join the SCHIE Firmware CoE team.
Responsibilities
- Work with the engineering team, silicon partners, and hardware teams to ensure firmware plans are incorporated into the execution plan.
- Collaborate with our engineering team on new HW SKUs under development and sustaining programs, ensuring a robust FW development, validation, and roll-out plan.
- Define and develop FW requirements for our Azure-powering hardware through active engagement with internal and external partners.
- Drive Engineering teams to address security vulnerabilities by agile execution across sprints, backlogs, and milestones, leading continuous planning efforts.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development, OR equivalent experience.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements is mandatory for this role. This includes, but is not limited to, specialized security screenings like the Microsoft Cloud Background Check (required upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Datacenter Racks & BMC.
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, EE, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager or in a technical role with systems experience.
- Knowledge of building low-level software for hardware, such as Firmware, UEFI, BMC, BSP, etc.
- Experience in technical program management of complex cross-group, cross-business, and cross-disciplinary projects.
- Exceptional organization and project management skills, including experience with SW/FW agile project management methodologies (TFS, DevOps, JIRA, or similar).
Compensation & Benefits
Technical Program Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. Specific ranges apply to San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan areas: USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
