Overview
The Senior Investigator role at Microsoft is part of the Global Security Investigations team, delivering scalable threat management and investigative services across the organization. The position focuses on investigating physical security matters that may impact Microsoft employees, external staff, guests, and facilities worldwide.
Responsibilities
Case Development and Preparation: Independently triage complex, high risk issues, organize critical information, and define investigative plans. Key tasks include collaborating with internal stakeholders, preparing detailed reports from complex data, and conducting in-depth interviews.
Case Management: Manage and monitor resources to drive investigative cases to resolution. Document activity in line with global standards, communicate progress with key stakeholders, and represent Microsoft on high-profile cases.
Professional Development: Develop and present content for internal/external education, serve as a thought leader in investigations, and provide case consultations.
Other Duties: Embody Microsoft’s culture and values, engage in physical protective duties, and respond to emergency situations including rotating 24x7 on-call assignments.
Qualifications
Required: 4+ years of experience in compliance, data analytics, investigations, or related fields, and ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule. Must pass citizenship verification.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 8+ years of experience, and certifications like CTM, PCI, or CPP. Proficiency in technology tools including M365, Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint is required. A US government security clearance may be necessary.
Salary & Duration
The base pay range for this role in the U.S. is approximately USD 96,500 to 188,400 per year, with different ranges for specific locations. Applications are accepted until October 21st, 2025.
