The ILDC team is actively expanding and seeking to hire a Security Product Manager. This pivotal role involves supporting strategic security initiatives through a deep understanding of multifaceted requirements, analyzing complex security issues, driving risk-informed solutions, and ensuring cross-functional alignment among product, security research, and engineering teams.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong combination of technical expertise, cybersecurity acumen, regulatory awareness, and product management skills. You will support AI scale projects, identify high-impact vulnerabilities, contribute to designing secure solutions, and assist with security reviews.
Responsibilities
- Define the vision and long-term strategy for security assurance programs or features, ensuring alignment with Microsoft’s overarching objectives.
- Analyze systemic security issues, effectively prioritize risks, manage risk dependencies, and influence engineering efforts to implement robust solutions.
- Drive alignment and collaboration across security research, engineering, compliance, and product teams; lead programs that span multiple divisions or security features across the platform.
- Stay continuously informed on industry trends, emerging threats, and best practices in security architecture to consistently enhance security measures.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing clear progress reports, addressing concerns, and offering strategic security insights.
- Contribute actively to both internal and external security communities to promote and share best practices.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. in software engineering, or an equivalent educational background.
- 2+ years of technical experience, with a strong background in Security and Cloud technologies.
- An understanding of current AI concepts and tools; familiarity with the Microsoft security and AI stacks is a significant advantage.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the proven ability to effectively interact with stakeholders across all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, coupled with a data-driven and curious mindset.
- A passion for continuous learning, experimentation, and improvement, along with the ability to navigate ambiguous environments autonomously.
Additional Qualifications (Senior Level)
- 4 years of product management experience, including over 2 years specifically leading security strategy for technology products, in addition to technical roles.
- Familiarity with multi-dimensional security principles and products spanning hardware, firmware, software, and cloud environments.
- Knowledge of security regulations is highly advantageous.
- Experience with defining and tracking OKRs and KPIs to measure program performance is a plus.
