Microsoft Research India (MSR India) is a leading research lab advancing innovation across research areas like Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Theory, Technology & Empowerment, and Systems. The Researcher Role
A research position at Microsoft Research India offers an opportunity to be at the forefront of Computer Science research and technology development, working with world-class colleagues on meaningful research problems. We are looking for exceptional researchers with a demonstrated track record in AI/ML, including new models, scalable ML architectures, systems support for such workloads, and innovative large-scale applications of ML models. Projects in the lab are inter-disciplinary and span across research areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing, information retrieval, systems, theory, and related areas.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with other researchers, engineers, product teams, and internal/external partners.
- Take ownership of driving research toward impactful publications and influencing industry trends.
- Deal comfortably with open research problems, new ideas, and evolving directions.
- Receive mentoring as well as mentor and lead interns and other team members.
Qualifications
Required:
- Ph.D. in Computer Science or related disciplines.
- Strong programming and communication skills.
- Ability to drive end-to-end research and development – from ideation to deployment.
- Ability to effectively work in highly collaborative environments.
Preferred:
- Relevant industry work experience with a proven track record of innovation and delivering impactful solutions.
- A strong track record of innovation as evidenced by high-quality publications, and impact commensurate with experience and seniority.
