Overview

About the Role

The Research Intern will work on diverse AI projects including multimodality, world model, LLM, and computer vision. The role involves working alongside MSR researchers and doctoral candidates to advance groundbreaking research initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on state-of-the-art AI methodologies.
  • Develop, prototype, and optimize novel AI solutions.
  • Collaborate with global MSR researchers.
  • Present and disseminate research findings.
  • Engage in a 12-week internship with mentorship and networking opportunities.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Leverage interdisciplinary expertise in NLP, LLM, and computer vision.
  • Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and top-tier conferences.
  • Contribute to Microsoft Research Asia's mission in AI innovation.

Qualifications

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a Master or Ph.D. program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Solid programming skills including prototyping and optimization.
  • Experience with LLM training and computer vision methods.
  • Proven publication record in leading conferences.

Compensation & Duration

This is a 12-week internship with a competitive monthly base pay range (CAD $5,600 - CAD $10,000). The internship typically begins in the summer.
