Overview
Research Internships at Microsoft offer a dynamic environment for exploring cutting-edge research in AI, hardware design, and computer architecture. Based in either the Vancouver lab or Redmond lab, interns collaborate with world-class researchers to solve complex challenges in computing, healthcare, economics, and the environment.
Location and Mission
At Microsoft Research Asia – Vancouver lab, located in vibrant Vancouver, BC, Canada, the mission is to transform the future of artificial intelligence by bridging general AI with specialized, real-world applications.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on chip architectures and AI inference systems.
- Prepare detailed documentation, simulation methodologies, and findings.
- Present results to team members and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with mentors, fellow interns, and researchers.
- Participate in a dynamic 12-week internship with real-world applications.
Additional Responsibilities
- Innovate and solve problems using interdisciplinary knowledge.
- Work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Engage in experiments and contribute to research publications.
Qualifications
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a Master or Ph.D. program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Programming skills in C/C++ and Python, as well as knowledge in ML/AI/LLM concepts, are preferred.
