The Global Customer Success (GCS) organization, a vital part of CE&S, leads the charge in enabling customer success on the Microsoft Cloud. GCS achieves this by harnessing leading, AI-powered capabilities and human expertise to deliver innovative solutions that drive business value, foster operational excellence, and build long-term loyalty.
As a Principal Cloud Solution Architect - Sentinel within the worldwide Customer Success security team, you will be instrumental in enhancing customer security environments. Your primary focus will be on Sentinel thought leadership and execution, including supporting complex S500 customer use cases. You will author Voice-of-the-Customer whitepapers to influence the product roadmap and directly guide the Customer Success Unit (CSU) Intellectual Property (IP) Development direction for Sentinel. You will evaluate customer security postures and demonstrate how the Microsoft security portfolio can achieve their objectives. Security Cloud Solution Architects (CSAs) collaborate closely with field teams and Engineering to remove technical blockers in the customer's security journey.
Responsibilities
- Help customers craft their security plan and strategy to transition their security practices to a modern, cloud-native approach utilizing Microsoft security solutions.
- Propose viable solutions based on specific Microsoft security products, demonstrate complex concepts, and validate solution capabilities through collaborative design sessions with customers.
- Apply deep technical knowledge of security architecture and solutions to meet business and information technology requirements and resolve identified technical blockers.
- Support customer projects as a subject matter expert in a specific Microsoft Security solution, such as Microsoft Sentinel.
- Gather crucial customer insights, including feedback on technical preferences, environments, and business needs, leveraging these insights and existing plans to align solutions with desired customer business outcomes. Identify and address technical blockers to accelerate consumption and deployment.
Qualifications
Required/minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies, information technology (IT) consulting/support, systems administration, network operations, software development/support, technology solutions, practice development, architecture, and/or consulting, OR equivalent experience.

- Microsoft is unable to sponsor a work visa for this role due to the nature of the job duties.
Additional Or Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of successful experience delivering complex technical security and compliance deployment projects, including architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of highly distributed infrastructure and applications.
- Technical Experience: Demonstrated experience and knowledge across cloud security computing domains and hands-on experience in Microsoft Security, specifically in Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) & Extended Detection and Response (XDR), Endpoint Security, Cloud Security, and Identity, with expertise in one or more of the following: Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, Defender for Endpoint (MDE), Defender for Office (MDO), Defender for Identity (MDI), Defender for Cloud (MDC), Defender for Cloud Apps (MDCA).
- Enterprise-scale technical experience with cloud security, hybrid infrastructure security, and network security.
- Certification in one or more of the following technologies preferred: Microsoft Azure and Security architecture, Microsoft Security, CISSP, CCSP, etc.
