Technology Consultant M365 - CTJ -POLY

Microsoft is seeking a Technology Consultant specializing in M365 to join their team. This role involves collaborating with internal stakeholders during the pre-sale process, understanding business requirements, and providing technical input to shape deals. You will support proposal and Statement of Work (SOW) drafting, provide input on staffing and skill requirements, and leverage business, industry, and technology strategies to map customer requirements to Microsoft technology solutions. The goal is to drive the adoption and optimization of Microsoft solutions, communicate their business value, and identify/mitigate technical and business risks. You will also act as an ambassador for intellectual property (IP) consumption, improving Managed Standard Offerings (MSO) and identifying opportunities to expand cloud adoption.

Responsibilities

Business Development
  • Identify opportunities to expand or accelerate the adoption and consumption of cloud and Microsoft technologies.
  • Facilitate scaling business with existing customers by articulating value propositions of strategic Microsoft products, including security to build trust.
  • Drive innovation and digital transformation, ensuring the use of existing intellectual property (IP).
Intellectual Property Management
  • Act as an ambassador for IP consumption by leveraging, modifying existing IP, or creating repeatable content.
  • Provide feedback on Managed IP for continuous improvement, report IP gaps, and review IP for harvesting and curation.
  • Improve Industry Solutions offerings quality by collaborating with portfolio and solution teams.
Operational Excellence
  • Complete operational tasks and readiness, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and adherence to security standards through Delivery Compliance, Privacy, and Security (DCPS).
  • Follow Microsoft policies, compliance, and procedures.
  • Lead by example and guide team members on operational tasks, readiness, and compliance.
Pre-Sales Support
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Solution Architect, Pursuit Lead, Consulting Account Executive) in the pre-sale process.
  • Understand business and security requirements, providing industry and technical input/solution offerings.
  • Support drafting proposals and/or SOWs.
  • Provide input on staffing and skill requirements, ensuring SME involvement to define security capacity for delivery.
Readiness
  • Learn new technologies or services based on business demands and industry trends, evaluating their impact on security posture.
  • Obtain relevant accreditations and certifications as advised by leadership.
  • Lead or participate in technical communities and conduct training sessions.
  • Mentor team members and act as a technical advisor, providing thought leadership and articulating solution value.
Technical Delivery
  • Follow capacity processes outlined by the RICC team and maintain tools with up-to-date skills and availability.
  • Participate in project planning and develop project documents by identifying risks and dependencies.
  • Communicate the business value of planned solutions to customers/partners.
  • Identify technical, business, and security risks in programs and propose mitigations.
  • Manage executive-level customer/partner/stakeholder relationships to identify satisfaction drivers, determine root causes, and establish recovery actions.
  • Work with the account team to ensure a One Microsoft approach and share lessons learned.
  • Implement solutions and provide oversight on workstreams across domains, adhering to Industry Solutions processes and security initiatives.
  • Align solutions with the intent of the architecture.
  • Lead meetings with customers/partners to understand business needs, using business, industry, security, and technology strategies to map requirements to Microsoft solutions.
  • Engage others appropriately to understand and define customer requirements, ensuring security is prioritized.
  • Manage escalations, analyze situations, and coordinate resources to resolve issues, considering cost implications and maintaining a security-first mindset.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Business, or related field AND 3+ years of leadership experience in a relevant area of business OR equivalent experience.
  • Security Clearance Requirements: Active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  • U.S. citizenship verification due to citizenship-based legal restrictions supporting United States federal, state, and/or local government agency customers.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a relevant area of business.

Compensation

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,000 - $193,800 per year. For the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the range is USD $126,100 - $204,000 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
