Overview
As a Marketing Technologist, you will drive the development of core technology solutions for the Consumer Marketing team at Microsoft. From problem definition and discovery to design, implementation, and enablement, you will advance our customer engagement, personalization, and measurement capabilities. You will apply continuous improvement practices and industry knowledge to ensure marketing platforms evolve with changing business needs and meet or exceed industry benchmarks. In this role, you will work across a variety of teams (marketing, operations, analytics, and engineering) to balance best-in-industry innovation with operational rigor and change management. You’ll also get hands-on, connecting tools and systems to increase the impact and usability of the technology. Responsibilities
Across platforms, tools, data flows, and operational processes you will analyze what’s working, what isn’t and why it matters for consumer marketers at Microsoft. You’ll develop plans and build technology solutions to meet the needs and opportunities uncovered in your analysis to drive relevant and meaningful updates to our tech stack.
- Use awareness of industry trends, marketing technology capabilities, and platform constraints to inform implementation decisions and tradeoffs.
- Understand upstream and downstream dependencies (e.g., data ingestion, identity, activation, reporting) when contributing to platform changes or enhancements.
- Support the rollout of platform changes, advancements, or new capabilities by helping define processes, documentation, and enablement materials.
- Contribute to iterative improvements to the marketer experience, reducing friction and increasing platform effectiveness over time.
- Leverage technical skills to implement and drive the connection of tooling within our stack.
- Explore new ways to use existing tools and data to unlock additional value for marketing teams.
- Participate in testing, validation, and release readiness activities.
Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years of marketing operations, program management, project management, or related experience OR equivalent experience.
Additional Or Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years of marketing operations, program management, project management, or related experience OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ year(s) technology/process improvement experience.
- Background supporting marketing, experimentation, or journey orchestration platforms (email, inproduct, web personalization).
- Familiarity: Figma, Adobe tools (channel and creative), React, Next.js, PowerBI, Copilot Studio, GitHub Copilot, Azure OpenAI, Azure Foundry, Lovable, Claude, or other AI tool building solutions.
- Headless Content Management Solutions - CMS and Digital Asset Manager - DAM systems and tool.
