Overview

Microsoft's Customer Experience and Success (CE&S) team is looking for an Incident Response Engineer. In this role, you will work with the Customer Service & Support (CSS) team to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, while leveraging Microsoft’s AI technology and tools for enhanced support. You will address security incidents, perform in-depth troubleshooting, and collaborate across teams for process improvements.

Responsibilities

Response and Resolution: Resolve customer technical issues using troubleshooting tools and research. You will document technical work, review complex issues, and follow up with customers about resolution status.

  • Troubleshoot using event logs and performance traces.
  • Collaborate with cross-team resources to resolve issues.

Readiness: Assist in implementing readiness programs such as mentoring and content development. Mentor new engineers and develop intermediate technical competencies.

Product/Process Improvement: Identify process gaps, provide feedback for tool improvements, and participate in case triage meetings to drive faster solutions.

Other: Embrace Microsoft’s culture of inclusion, respect, and accountability while ensuring compliance with security screenings and citizenship-based requirements.

Qualifications

Required: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in IT, computer science, or a related field with experience in technical support, incident response, and network/system administration. Customer-facing experience and a background in security incident response are essential.

Preferred: Cloud experience, automation skills (PowerShell/Python), Azure identity management, and industry certifications.

Compensation & Benefits

The typical base pay ranges from approximately USD 68,300 to USD 137,900 per year, with variations based on specific locations such as the Bay Area or New York City.
