Critical Environment Technician Intern

Overview

Microsoft is inviting you to join as a Critical Environment Technician Intern within the Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team. You will play a key role in supporting the core infrastructure for Microsoft online services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and Microsoft Azure. This internship is a gateway to learn and gain hands-on experience in a large global data center environment that supports over 1 billion customers worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Work in a shift-based environment onsite at our Dubai Data Centers.
• Perform basic tasks like rounds, recording observations, and measurements.
• Learn safe operation of systems and equipment, including completing Microsoft CET level 1.
• Monitor and inspect facility equipment such as HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Utilize CMMS to track equipment assets and complete work order requests.
• Assist in emergency monitoring and follow emergency operating procedures.
• Participate in incident analysis, maintenance tasks, and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to developing operating procedures (MOPs and SOPs).
• Conduct technical research on relevant topics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Open to Emirati Nationals only with valid UAE Family Book.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in Facilities Management, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Diploma level 2 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Ability to support physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting, and working at heights.
• Effective communication skills in English.
• Willingness to learn and work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays.
