Overview of the Account Manager Role at Microsoft Advertising

As an Account Manager, you will be a top-performing professional with digital advertising experience, driving revenue and enhancing customer satisfaction by developing strategic client relationships and delivering customized solutions. This role focuses on enabling Microsoft to better serve clients by obsessing over their needs, ensuring value is understood, and building trusted-advisor relationships with day-to-day contacts at advertiser/agency. You will drive revenue and client satisfaction across MSA’s performance solutions, focusing on data-driven optimizations, campaign execution, and coordinating internal resources for excellent service and account health. Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and organization to achieve more, fostering a growth mindset and collaborative environment.

Please note that starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI employees within a 50-mile commute of a U.S. designated office or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week, subject to local law.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Planning: Partner with Account Executives and Specialist teams to develop and execute MSA account plans, leveraging winning sales strategies across diverse clients.
  • Business Acumen: Learn client business drivers, compelling events, and seasonality to identify optimization opportunities and support sales plan development.
  • Influence & Insights: Engage Digital Marketing Managers and Directors with data-driven insights and product demonstrations to show how MSA can increase business results.
  • Optimize & Achieve Targets: Manage existing client business to achieve sales targets, maintain excellent sales hygiene, and consistently meet pipeline, opportunity, and revenue goals.
  • Solution Selling: Utilize a solution-selling mindset to identify cross-Microsoft opportunities, deliver beneficial client outcomes, and overcome blockers.
  • Negotiation & Renewal: Support Account Executives in building negotiation plans for smooth contract closings and timely renewals.
  • Product Expertise: Demonstrate expertise in MSA’s features and incentives, including incubation products, to upsell and increase consumption, replicating winning strategies.
  • Culture & Values: Actively embody Microsoft's culture and values of respect, integrity, and accountability.

Required Qualifications

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field AND 2+ years relevant work experience (e.g., sales, advertising, or marketing with a focus on digital advertising); OR
  • Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field AND 4+ years relevant work experience (e.g., sales, advertising, or marketing with a focus on digital advertising); OR
  • 6+ years relevant work experience (e.g., sales, advertising, or marketing with a focus on digital advertising); OR
  • Equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field AND 4+ years relevant work experience (e.g., sales, advertising, or marketing with a focus on digital advertising); OR
  • Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field AND 5+ years relevant work experience (e.g., sales, advertising, or marketing with a focus on digital advertising); OR
  • 8+ years relevant work experience (e.g., sales, advertising, or marketing with a focus on digital advertising); OR
  • Equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience managing hands-on search advertising campaigns and other performance-based digital marketing campaigns.
  • 2+ years of experience in online media or Search Engine Marketing Sales and Service experience.
  • Experience within the Financial Services industry.
