About the Role: U.S. Individual Tax Specialist
micro1 is seeking a U.S. Individual Tax Specialist to join our team as an AI Trainer. In this remote, part-time contract role, you will leverage your deep expertise in U.S. individual taxation to develop realistic, AI-driven training and assessment scenarios.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, review, and refine prompts and rubrics simulating real-life U.S. individual tax scenarios.
- Create comprehensive test cases covering diverse taxpayers, including multi-state and unique tax rules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure content accuracy, authenticity, and clarity.
- Update scenarios in line with evolving IRS guidelines, state regulations, and tax law changes.
- Provide detailed written and verbal feedback to improve AI-driven testing content.
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail to ensure scenarios reflect current tax codes and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Active CPA or EA license (U.S.).
- 3+ years of hands-on experience preparing U.S. individual tax returns.
- Expertise in Form 1040, related schedules, and supporting documents (W-2, 1099s, K-1, etc.).
- Experience preparing state and multi-state tax returns.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret and apply tax law to complex or unfamiliar scenarios.

- Experience in tax training, content creation, or assessment development.
- Familiarity with AI tools or technology-driven tax solutions.
- Exposure to high-volume, complex, non-resident, or multi-state filings.
