Position Overview

Join our customer’s team as a Linguistics Specialist - Japanese. In this part-time, remote role, you will contribute to an impactful AI training project by analyzing voice clips in both English and Japanese. Your linguistic expertise will help improve language technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and annotate voice clips in English and Japanese.
• Evaluate speech data and provide detailed feedback.
• Collaborate to define annotation guidelines and resolve ambiguities.
• Identify language variations, dialects, and pronunciation nuances.
• Document findings and maintain organized records throughout the project lifecycle.
• Offer insights to enhance language data collection and processing.
• Communicate professionally with stakeholders in both written and verbal formats.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Linguistics, Language Studies, or related field.
• Native or near-native proficiency in Japanese and strong command of English.
• Exceptional communication skills with high attention to detail.
• Experience in language analysis, transcription, or annotation tasks.
• Proficiency in digital tools for data annotation and analysis.
• Strong interest in language technology, phonetics, and computational linguistics.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience on AI or voice recognition projects.
• Familiarity with Japanese dialects and sociolinguistic variations.
• Background in acoustic analysis or speech technology research.
