Role Summary

Join micro1 at the intersection of cutting-edge AI and the evolving world of law. In this role, you’ll collaborate with technical teams to infuse legal expertise into reinforcement learning environments and other advanced AI systems. Outstanding performers will have a clear path toward a Chief Researcher position.

What You’ll Do

• Partner with technical staff to define key legal domains for AI research.
• Design realistic legal and regulatory scenarios mirroring real cases.
• Communicate complex legal concepts in client and research meetings.
• Support expert teams with ongoing legal interpretation and compliance guidance.
• Represent micro1 in conferences and publications on AI in legal technology.
• Foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams shaping AI in law and governance.

What We’re Looking For

• Advanced legal degree (JD, LLM, PhD in Law, etc.).
• Proven legal expertise through practice, academia, or research.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong analytical and reasoning abilities.
• Experience in interdisciplinary legal-technology or compliance settings.
• Proactive, self-directed approach with strong collaboration skills.
• Comfort with remote and digital research tools.
