Geologist Role Overview

Join our customer's team as a Geoscientist at micro1, where you will play a pivotal role at the intersection of Earth sciences and cutting-edge artificial intelligence. In this role, you will leverage your geoscience expertise to train and guide AI models ensuring accuracy, relevance, and quality in environmental, resource exploration, and geospatial data applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to develop AI training datasets using geological surveys and research outputs.
• Analyze geological, geochemical, and geophysical data with advanced software tools.
• Apply expertise in mineralogy, stratigraphy, and seismology to classify and annotate data.
• Investigate Earth’s crust through examination of soils, rocks, minerals, and fossils.
• Assess natural disaster risks by synthesizing data and training models.
• Author comprehensive documentation and communicate scientific concepts to diverse teams.
• Support the continuous improvement of AI-driven solutions for resource exploration and environmental challenges.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Geosciences, Geology, Geophysics, Earth Sciences or related field.
• Experience in geological data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
• Proficiency with geological, geophysical, or geochemical analysis software and visualization tools.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Collaborative mindset, especially in remote team environments.
• Knowledge of AI concepts or willingness to learn AI in geoscience workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a project geologist, environmental protection geologist, or similar specialist roles.
• Familiarity with AI data labeling, annotation, or training pipelines.
• Experience mentoring both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
