The Role: Fullstack Developer

As a Fullstack Developer at micro1, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and shipping production systems from conception to deployment. This is a hands-on position requiring comfort in owning features across the entire stack, from UI to infrastructure. You will operate in a fast-paced environment, making thoughtful tradeoffs under real constraints, and collaborating closely with a small, senior, remote team to translate innovative ideas into reliable, high-quality software.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and evolve cutting-edge frontend systems using technologies like React, Next.js, TypeScript, and modern CSS frameworks.
• Design and ship robust Python backends utilizing FastAPI or Flask, including secure, high-performance APIs and services.
• Take ownership of data modeling and performance for PostgreSQL, managing schemas, queries, indexing, and migrations.
• Seamlessly integrate internal and external APIs to power core product workflows and functionalities.
• Deploy and operate services efficiently on AWS, leveraging services such as EC2, S3, CloudFront, Route 53, and Lambda.
• Uphold high engineering standards, focusing on comprehensive testing, superior code quality, observability, and clear documentation.
• Ensure clear and direct communication, both written and verbal, within a fast-moving, asynchronous, and remote work setting.

What We Look For

• Strong experience with React and Next.js, including Server-Side Rendering (SSR), Static Site Generation (SSG), and effective routing.
• Deep understanding of frontend fundamentals and a proven track record of creating clean, maintainable user interfaces using tools like Tailwind or styled systems.
• Solid backend experience in Python, demonstrating proficiency with async patterns and developing service-oriented architectures.
• Comfortable with modern state management solutions such as Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or React Query.
• Practical knowledge of PostgreSQL, encompassing performance optimization and effective schema design.
• Hands-on experience running real workloads in AWS and configuring production infrastructure.
• A clear thinker, strong communicator, and a low-ego collaborator thrives in a team environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with Large Language Model (LLM) APIs or developing AI-driven product features.
• Exposure to prompt engineering, AI workflows, or automation pipelines.
• Familiarity with agentic systems, multi-step reasoning, or tool-using AI models.
