Job Overview

Join micro1 as a Data Recording Generalist - Oculus Quest 3, a part-time remote position. In this role, you will help build cutting-edge datasets by recording everyday home tasks using an Oculus Quest 3.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture short, high-quality first-person videos of household tasks like laundry, dishes, tidying, and basic food prep.
  • Ensure hands, arms, and body are clearly visible with stable framing, good lighting, and uncluttered backgrounds.
  • Strictly follow privacy rules by recording solo, avoiding faces, and excluding personal/identifying items.
  • Accurately name, organize, and upload files; complete metadata including activity, duration, location type, and notes.
  • Occasionally capture RGB-D/IMU outputs and perform basic calibration steps as trained.
  • Conduct light troubleshooting such as storage checks, firmware/app updates, and file exports/transfers.
  • Review work against SOPs and checklists, acting on feedback and providing concise async updates.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Ownership of Oculus Quest 3
  • Recent smartphone or computer with reliable internet connection for file transfers.
  • Basic POV capture skills: framing, lighting, and steady recordings with quick re-takes.
  • High attention to detail for accurate file naming, metadata, and privacy compliance.
  • Clear written communication and ability to independently follow detailed protocols.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data capture, content creation, metadata schemas, or QC checklists.
  • Familiarity or willingness to learn about RGB-D, IMU, calibration (intrinsics/extrinsics).
  • Consistency in repetitive tasks with strong checklist discipline.
