Job Summary: Backend Developer
Join micro1's core engineering team as a Backend Developer to contribute to building and scaling critical backend services. You will collaborate closely with frontend, AI, and product teams, focusing on delivering high-quality code, robust system design, and clear communication within a remote-first environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend services using Node.js and Nest.js.
- Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases for performance and scalability.
- Develop scalable infrastructure on AWS/GCP, incorporating serverless components.
- Utilize Redis for caching, message queues, and managing high-throughput workflows.
- Ensure the performance, reliability, and security of backend systems.
- Deliver clean, well-documented, and efficient APIs.
- Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting practices.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines and streamline deployment workflows.
- Actively participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and project planning.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and Nest.js in production environments.
- Advanced proficiency in PostgreSQL, including data modeling, complex queries, and optimization.
- Practical experience with AWS/GCP cloud platforms and serverless architectures.
- Demonstrated experience integrating and utilizing Redis.
- Solid understanding of backend architecture principles, security best practices, and performance optimization.
- Proficient with Git/GitHub and modern CI/CD tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DevOps or Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Knowledge of event-driven or real-time architectural patterns.
- Familiarity with microservices and distributed systems.
Compensation & Benefits
The annual base salary range for this full-time Backend Developer position is $90,000–$140,000 USD. micro1 is committed to attracting top talent globally and offers generous compensation packages, including equity compensation for all employees. Performance-based bonuses may also be available.
