Position Overview

Michael Baker International is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer - Mission Critical Data Center. This remote role is ideal for a highly motivated professional with a strong technical background, excellent documentation skills, and over 15 years of consulting engineering experience. The role involves working on mission-critical projects, developing feasibility reports, construction documents, specifications, engineering calculations and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems for mission-critical and data center projects.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary project teams for successful delivery.
  • Perform technical evaluations and provide solutions to complex challenges.
  • Create feasibility reports, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Coordinate teams including Electrical Engineers, EITs, and BIM Specialists.
  • Mentor and facilitate the growth of junior staff.
  • Review construction documents and ensure code compliance.
  • Support marketing and business development with proposals.
  • Conduct design meetings and provide field support during construction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering with an electrical emphasis.
  • Minimum of 15 years of consulting engineering experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with strong technical writing skills.
  • Expertise in building electrical power, lighting, and signal design.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, BIM Revit, AutoCAD, and electrical design software.
  • US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous data center/mission critical experience.
  • Knowledge of NEC, UPS, generator support, and grounding systems.
  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam Revu, SKM Power Tools, CYMCAP, and Microsoft Office.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $105,000-$180,000, based on experience and expertise.
