Overview

Miaplaza, Inc. is seeking a creative and experienced Secondary Art Curriculum Developer to design asynchronous online visual arts courses for middle and high school students. This full-time remote role offers flexibility while being part of a growing education platform including Miacademy, Always Icecream, Clever Dragons, MiaPrep, and MiaPrep Online High School.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop educational content (video scripts, assessments, written materials) for middle and high school students.
  • Create comprehensive, student-centered visual arts curriculum covering art fundamentals, drawing, painting, mixed media, 3D art, and digital media.
  • Write clear, measurable lesson objectives and align materials to those objectives.
  • Collaborate with coaches, video producers, and educators to produce interactive content.
  • Record overhead videos for visual demonstration of lessons using provided gear.
  • Utilize technologies such as Google Slides, Sheets, and Docs to support instruction.
  • Differentiated instruction to accommodate diverse learning needs.
  • Continuously refine curriculum based on feedback and educational outcomes.

Schedule & Environment

This role expects 30-40 hours per week on a year-round basis with flexibility in scheduling. Weekly meetings typically occur during US business hours.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of full-time classroom teaching at middle/high school level.
  • At least 1 year developing curriculum or lesson materials.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Art Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Fine or Visual Art or similar.
  • Personal visual art portfolio required.
  • Strong writing skills and ability to create engaging online lessons.
  • Experience with Google Slides, Sheets, and Docs.
  • Ability to record overhead videos for lesson demonstrations.
  • Self-motivated with strong time management and communication skills.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Active teaching certification and/or professional development in curriculum design.
  • Experience in instructional design and online course creation.
  • Experience analyzing data to improve educational outcomes.
  • Experience creating video and voice-over content.

Compensation & Benefits
