About the role
Software Engineer - Fintech
We're looking for a Software Engineer to join one of our Fintech teams at Mews. You'll work on the payments and financial products that hotels around the world use every day: charges, refunds, payouts, subscriptions, multi-currency flows, and more. This is the layer that makes Mews a financial platform, not just a PMS.
You'll be part of a small, cross-functional team working across the full cycle: technical design, implementation, code reviews, CI/CD deployments, and observability. The work is backend-heavy (.NET on Azure) with some frontend in React/TypeScript, and the systems you build are real: high volumes, multi-country, integrations with major payment partners, and a checkout SDK already running in production with live clients.
At Mews, we value open communication, trust, and constant learning. Our teams follow Agile practices and focus on flow, delivery, and collaboration.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it:
- Build and maintain backend services and APIs that power payments and financial products for hotels globally.
- Work end-to-end across design, implementation, testing, deployment, and observability of the features you own.
- Participate actively in technical design and code reviews, raising the bar for quality and reliability across the team.
- Gain progressive ownership over parts of the product, reducing dependencies and helping the team move faster.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, PM, QA, and design in a cross-functional team that ships together.
- Contribute to building systems that are secure, scalable, and correct in regulated, multi-currency, multi-country environments.
You’ll be a great fit if you bring a few of the below with you:
- Strong, recent experience in C# and .NET Core building real backend systems and APIs, not isolated features.
- Background in fintech, payments, banking, or other regulated environments (insurance, audit, compliance, etc.).
- Experience working on a large product or system where correctness, reliability, and scale actually matter.
- Comfort working across the full engineering cycle: from design to deployment to keeping things running in production.
- A mindset that goes beyond the ticket: you think about the user, the business impact, and the edge cases nobody wrote down.
- Clear communication and ability to work well in a cross-functional team.
Nice to have:
- React / TypeScript for occasional frontend work.
- Messaging systems: Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus.
- Exposure to audit trails, ledger systems, reconciliation, or compliance requirements.
- Going beyond pure engineering to shape what gets built, talk to users, define problems, and think about the business, not just the code.
