Garage Mechanic Shift at Metro Vancouver

Join our Fleet Maintenance team at the Lake City Operations Centre in Burnaby, working full-time on the afternoon shift (3:00pm-11:30pm) with an initial training period on day shift (7:00am-3:30pm) for up to six weeks.

This position involves maintenance, repair, and overhaul of various road vehicles, heavy duty equipment, and emergency service vehicles. You will troubleshoot issues, perform diagnostics using modern equipment, maintain records, and train junior mechanics.

  • Maintain and repair fire trucks, emergency vehicles, and heavy equipment.
  • Utilize modern diagnostic and computerized maintenance systems.
  • Work in diverse environments including outdoor and water-adjacent sites.
  • Offer technical expertise and leadership when required.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and WorkSafeBC regulations.

Qualifications include a high school diploma along with a relevant Trades Qualification certificate, four years of experience in heavy duty or automotive maintenance, and the ability or certification to secure a Commercial Vehicle Inspection Certificate (CVIC) within six months.
