We’re looking for enthusiastic, customer-focused individuals to join our team as Trainee Station Assistant with intakes taking place across 2026. This is your opportunity to earn while you learn, gain a nationally recognised traineeship, and build a long-term career in public transport.

- 24/7 rotating roster (including early mornings, late nights, weekends and public holidays)
- Locations confirmed after successful completion of Academy training
- Paid training provided

What You’ll Be Doing
Platform & Train Interface
You’ll help keep our network moving safely and on time by:
- Conducting platform safety checks
- Assisting passengers boarding and disembarking trains
- Managing platform dwell times to support on-time departures
- Making clear, confident public announcements (especially during disruptions)
- Responding to unwell passengers and providing timely assistance
- Completing pre-shunting checks and station presentation inspections
Barrier & Ticketing Support
You’ll be The Friendly Face At The Gate Line
- Assisting customers with the MYKI ticketing system
- Overseeing barriers during peak periods and special events
- Answering ticketing and travel enquiries
- Ensuring customers validate correctly on entry and exit
Customer Service
Customer Experience Is At The Heart Of This Role
- Providing a visible, professional uniformed presence
- Delivering accurate and helpful travel information
- Managing and diffusing customer concerns respectfully
- Escalating matters to the Station Master when required
