Metrie is seeking a Part-Time Field Service Representative (Merchandiser) in Montreal, Quebec.

What You Will Do
As a part-time Field Service Representative, you will play a key role in our retail network by providing secure and value-added execution and merchandising services to our retail customers, including warehousing, display, and maintaining stock on store shelves of our various products. The representative drives sales growth by maintaining stock levels, store appearance, and customer service. They are responsible for establishing and maintaining key relationships and partnerships with local store leaders and employees. The requirements of this position include maintaining product presentation standards, stocking inventory, managing inventory, and producing deficiency reports for multiple locations assigned by the district manager.
Reporting Relationships
You will report directly to the district manager. You will also collaborate with the national merchandising manager, retail sales network management, and various customer service managers and employees.
Location
This position is mobile and will report to our office located in Montreal, Quebec. The candidate must have a car; we provide a gas card.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe and consistent shopping experience for the end consumer.
- Promote in-store sales by maintaining stock levels, product placement, and merchandising standards.
- Order and store inventory in different stores.
- Ensure a positive customer and consumer experience through relationship building and partnerships, product knowledge, and customer service orientation.
- Execute the “full cycle” process in designated stores, from home to the conclusion of the store visit; follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for safety, work methods, cleanliness, and merchandising standards.
- Effectively manage in-store stock levels as part of shared supply management programs (GPA) to standard (cycle counting, verification, and management of on-hand quantity adjustments in GPA).
- Inspect layouts, signs, branded marketing collateral, and price sets to confirm they meet the standard; make necessary replacements in-store; report deficiencies to the on-site contact and inform the district manager.
Experience with Tools and Equipment:
- Client location printer and fax machine
- Hardware/software (Office Suite, SAP GPA, MS Teams, tablet)
- Drywall and lumber carts
- Experience with hand tools and equipment
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently lift and carry millwork products up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally push and pull drywall carts weighing 50-2,000 pounds (assistance provided for heavier loads).
- Frequently reach various levels and locations to inspect and handle products.
- Occasionally use hand tools.
- Dexterity for hand-eye coordination tasks (e.g., identifying moldings, keyboard entry, price accuracy).
- Stand continuously, walk frequently, stop, bend, rotate, and occasionally kneel.
- Frequently read written and electronic documents, and product labels.
- Constantly need to hear and verbally communicate.
- Frequently exposed to handling equipment and transport vehicles.
- Safely use required safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
- Work safely in compliance with applicable safety requirements.
- 100% regular and frequent travel; potential for up to five overnight stays.
Who You Are:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on client needs.
- High school diploma; post-secondary education preferred.
- At least 2 years of stock replenishment experience in retail or building materials.
- Fluent in French and English.
- Knowledge of inventory management procedures and systems.
- Proficient with personal computers, tablets, RF scanners, and other devices.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written).
- Strong time management skills; ability to work independently or collaboratively.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively, independently, and without supervision.
- Ability to give written and/or verbal instructions.
- Ability to reason, make decisions, and exercise independent judgment.
