Position Summary

The Air Refueling Operator serves as an aircrew member aboard Metrea Strategic Mobility’s tanker aircraft. This role is integral to safe and efficient in-flight refueling operations and requires adherence to strict safety and operational procedures.

Essential Functions

The key responsibilities include:

• Conducting pre-flight, through-flight, and post-flight inspections, checklists, and documentation.
• Computing and loading weight and balance data.
• Loading and unloading personnel and cargo.
• Transferring fuel safely from MSM tanker aircraft to contracted receiver aircraft during flight.
• Operational checks of air refueling equipment including onboard camera and recording systems.
• Maintaining Situational Awareness (SA) and Crew Resource Management (CRM) throughout flight phases.
• Adhering to company Flight Operation Procedures (FOPs), Ground Operation Procedures (GOPs), and Safety Notices.
• Maintaining all required qualifications and advanced systems knowledge associated with the KC-135 tanker fleet.

Competency & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will set a high standard for world-class air refueling, have the ability to travel, and be minimally dependent on assistance. The requirements include:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 10 years as a KC-135 Boom Operator.
• 2000 total flight hours and 200 IB-EB hours.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Required certificates: COVID-19 Vaccination Record, Current FAA Class 2 Medical, and Current US Passport.
• Preferred: Current and qualified KC-135R IB/EB in the last 39 months.
