Position Summary

The Air Refueling Operator aboard Metrea Strategic Mobility’s tanker aircraft is responsible for pre-flight, through-flight, and post-flight inspections, fuel transfer operations, and aircraft safety checks. This role requires a high degree of precision and adherence to company Flight Operation Procedures and Safety Notices.

Essential Functions

• Conduct pre-flight, through-flight, and post-flight inspections and complete checklists and documentation.
• Compute and load weight and balance data.
• Load and unload personnel and cargo.
• Safely transfer fuel from MSM tanker aircraft (MPRS, BDA, Boom) to receiver aircraft during flight.
• Perform operational checks of air refueling equipment, including onboard camera/recording systems.
• Maintain situational awareness and use Crew Resource Management (CRM) throughout all flight phases.
• Adhere to Flight Operation Procedures (FOP’s), Ground Operation Procedures (GOP’s) and Safety Notices.
• Maintain all required currencies, qualifications and advanced systems knowledge for the KC-135 tanker fleet.

Competency & Requirements

Set a high standard for providing world-class air refueling services. Travel is a requirement for this role.

Required Education, Experience and Certificates

• High School Diploma or GED
• 10 years as a KC-135 Boom Operator with 2000 total hours and 200 IB-EB hours
• Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills
• COVID-19 Vaccination Record, Current FAA Class 2 Medical, and Current US Passport

Preferred Qualifications

Current and qualified KC-135R IB/EB in the last 39 months is preferred.

Additional Information

This position requires the ability to perform all duties with little or no assistance and demands strong command of the English language. U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
