About the Role
Metra is seeking a Criminal Intelligence Analyst to collect, evaluate, and interpret data from diverse sources to identify threats, predict behaviors, and support strategic decisions in law enforcement and national security. This role is crucial for transforming raw information into actionable intelligence, mapping intelligence gaps, and analyzing criminal capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis & Synthesis: Parse vast amounts of information to uncover patterns, trends, and connections.
- Reporting & Briefing: Produce detailed intelligence reports, maps, and charts to advise decision-makers.
- Threat Assessment: Evaluate and communicate real-time, high-stakes information regarding terrorist, cyber, and criminal threats.
- Collaboration: Work with federal, state, and local agencies to share information and mitigate risks.
- Monitor Threats: Track developments in global, regional, or organizational contexts and identify new risks early.
- Safety & Environment: Promote safe work practices and maintain a safe work environment, working in various environmental conditions.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in public safety, homeland security, criminal justice, or a related field, OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Five years of progressively responsible experience in intelligence analysis with a law enforcement agency.
- Previous experience working as an intelligence analyst with a law enforcement agency.
- Knowledge of data collection from diverse sources (classified, OSINT, internal databases).
- Skilled in credibility assessment, pattern recognition, report writing, and briefing.
- Awareness of relevant local, state, and federal regulations and policies.
- Familiarity with data analysis, communication, and resource management tools.
- Ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and coordinate activities.
- Ability to accurately perceive situations, understand threats, and anticipate developments.
- Keen eye for detail, critical thinking, problem-solving, and maintaining confidentiality.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to operate a vehicle and willingness to travel.
- Must be available on-call 24/7.
