Overview

Methodius Ltd is seeking a Substation Electrical Design Engineer Lead to join our multinational utility contracting team in Electrical and Telecommunications infrastructure. This role is based in the Dublin office with flexibility on location within Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical substation design including primary and secondary systems.
  • Perform design calculations and develop procurement specifications.
  • Mentor and support team members while managing project deliverables.
  • Review, approve, and enhance team design submissions.
  • Identify design risks and propose mitigation techniques.

Role Specifics

This position involves taking charge of major Power, Renewable & Substation projects and making technical and strategic decisions. You will collaborate with clients, manage project timelines, and monitor costs.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 7 years of hands-on experience.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, ePlan, MS Office; additional design software experience is an advantage.
  • Solid knowledge of substation design, utilities, and renewables sectors.
  • Familiarity with ESB/Eirgrid specifications is an advantage.
  • Strong client-facing skills and ability to work independently as well as lead a team.
