Job Summary:
The Back Office Coordinator will assist the Office Manager with operations and management duties for facilities with 5 or more physicians. This role involves maintaining confidentiality, performing Medical Assistant duties, assisting in policy development, problem-solving, delegating tasks, monitoring staff certifications, managing pharmaceutical systems, scheduling meetings, and supporting diagnostic and procedural coding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the strictest confidentiality and perform all required Medical Assistant duties.
- Assist the Office Manager in developing and implementing clinical policies and procedures.
- Advise Office Manager of facility problems and participate in problem-solving.
- Delegate duties to back office staff members as assigned.
- Monitor education certifications of nursing staff for legislative compliance.
- Oversee pharmaceutical handling system upgrades and compliance.
- Schedule and lead monthly back office staff meetings.
- Assist with diagnostic and procedural coding issues.
- Attend meetings and perform other duties as assigned by the Office Manager.
- Manage the care and upkeep of department equipment and supplies, including calibration and record keeping.
- Complete assigned projects in a timely and effective manner.
- Participate in interviewing applicants and provide input for hiring decisions and performance evaluations.
- Train MAs and other staff, serve as a clinical resource, and maintain training materials.
- Participate in continuing education to maintain professional competence.
- Perform lead duties for back-office staff to ensure optimal patient flow and customer service.
- Foster a team approach for high-quality patient care and staff cooperation.
- Support clinic efficiency and cohesion by following established policies and procedures.
Work Schedule:
- Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Days: Monday - Friday
- Shift: 10X4 Day
Job Requirements:
- Strong communication skills with consistent incorporation of judgment and discretion.
- Minimum of 2 years in a back office within a medical setting OR two years of nursing experience.
