Job Description

UX Researcher, Qualitative at Meta

Our UX Research team at Meta is dedicated to designing for the broad spectrum of human needs by deeply understanding user behaviors. Researchers on this team tackle complex challenges, gaining insights into how people interact with technology and the world. They collaborate to contribute new ideas that impact the experiences of billions globally.

We employ a variety of qualitative and quantitative methods, including surveys, focus groups, field studies, usability tests, and 1:1 interviews. We value diverse perspectives and backgrounds, seeking communicators knowledgeable in human behavior research and curious about the relationship between technology and society.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with product and business teams to identify key research topics.
  • Act as a thought leader in the domain of research, advocating for the people who will use our products.
  • Design and execute end-to-end custom primary research utilizing a wide array of methods.
  • Design studies that comprehensively address both user behavior and attitudes.
  • Work independently and autonomously, managing priorities effectively.
  • Manage and prioritize research plans efficiently through ambiguous and fast-changing environments, aligning and executing critical insights with diverse stakeholders.
  • Communicate research results and illustrate suggestions in compelling and unique ways.
  • Work cross-functionally with design, product management, content strategy, engineering, and marketing teams.
  • Generate insights that both fuel ideation for new products and evaluate existing designs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience in user experience, applied research, and/or product research and development; or a Master’s degree with 8+ years relevant experience; or a PhD with 5+ years relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting In-Depth Interviews or Focus Groups.
  • Experience with Concept Testing or Usability Testing.
  • Proven interest in and experience executing hands-on, primary research.
  • Experience translating complex research findings into strategic narratives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degrees in a human behavior related field, such as Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Communication, Information Science, Media Studies, Computer Science, or Economics.
  • Experience with consumer products, consumer insights, or product development lifecycle.
