Overview
Meta is seeking talented principal engineers to join our team of Software Engineer - Product Technical Leadership. As a member of our team, you will oversee complex technical problems, build new features, and improve existing products across mobile devices and web applications. You will lead a world-class team of engineers and researchers to work on projects that significantly impact how billions of people connect globally.
Responsibilities
- Drive the team’s goals and technical direction.
- Communicate complex features and systems in detail.
- Assess and develop new technologies based on trends.
- Collaborate with leaders to improve team performance.
- Create multi-year roadmaps aligning short and long term goals.
- Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent).
- 12+ years programming experience or 8+ years with a PhD.
- Proven experience in planning multi-year roadmaps.
- Experience driving cross-functional, large-scale engineering efforts.
- Expertise in using data analysis to solve technical challenges.
- Proven ability to mentor and influence executive stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with C, C++, Java, Swift, or Kotlin and scripting languages like Python, Javascript, or Hack.
- 8+ years building large-scale applications.
- Experience with thoughtful code reviews, testing, and proactive changes.

Compensation & Benefits
Base compensation ranges from $213,000 to $293,000 per year, with bonus, equity, and additional benefits offered. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
