About the Software Engineer Front End Role at Meta

Meta is seeking talented, experienced engineers to join our teams in building cutting-edge products that connect billions globally. As a member of our team, you will work on complex technical problems, build new features, and improve existing products across mobile and web platforms.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, operations, and infrastructure.
• Implement custom user interfaces using the latest programming techniques and technologies.
• Analyze and optimize code for quality, efficiency, and performance.
• Lead initiatives, provide technical guidance and mentorship, and onboard new team members.
• Architect efficient, scalable systems to drive complex applications.
• Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues reducing technical debt.
• Work with a variety of coding languages and technologies.
• Establish ownership of components, features, or systems with end-to-end understanding.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent, with 8+ years of programming experience OR 4+ years with a PhD. Demonstrated experience in driving change within organizations and leading complex technical projects. Experience utilizing data analysis to explain technical problems and provide detailed feedback and solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ years of HTML/CSS experience including layout, specificity, cross browser compatibility, and accessibility.
• Experience with browser APIs and front end performance optimization.
• Expertise in building maintainable and testable code bases, API design, and unit testing.
• Proven record shipping at least one product to production supporting millions of users.

Compensation & Benefits

This role offers a competitive base rate ranging from $85.10/hour to $251,000/year plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
