About the Role
The Meta Security Policy team is dedicated to identifying, tracking, and countering adversarial threat actors that seek to use our platforms to mislead users or cause harm. The role involves understanding risks, crafting policies for acceptable use, and building detection and enforcement regimes across our apps and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with policy, legal, investigative, and product teams to analyze emerging policy issues and adversarial behavior.
- Partner with global product and data science teams to design systems that measure control effectiveness.
- Evaluate existing controls and create new metrics for risk assessment.
- Resolve gaps in policies and technical controls exploited by frauds, scams, and inauthentic activities.
- Support engagements with regulators, researchers, and industry partners as a security subject matter expert.
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, data science, or public policy with strong communication skills to explain complex technical issues to non-technical audiences. Experience with statistical analysis, experimental design, and understanding of global cybersecurity standards and threats is essential. Must be adept at working across technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree or equivalent experience in information security or cybersecurity.
- Experience in consensus building and making policy recommendations.
- Proficiency with Python, R, SQL, and visualization tools like Tableau in big data environments.
- Expertise in identifying, assessing, and disrupting malicious actors.
Compensation and Benefits
Base compensation ranges from $151,000 to $216,000 per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
