Overview
Meta Security's Insider Trust team is dedicated to identifying and responding to insider threats that target our data. The Security Engineer Investigator, Insider Trust role focuses on investigating, hunting, and automating detection processes for malicious internal activities.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and threat hunt using diverse log sources.
- Create workflows and automations to streamline signal detection and investigations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to build scalable investigation solutions.
- Identify infrastructure gaps and enhance visibility with logging and automation.
- Develop operational workflows to auto-resolve false positives with context.
- Prioritize efforts to maximize impact and scale investigation capabilities.
- Coach and mentor team members for career growth and success.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in Detection & Response Engineering, Insider Threat, or similar roles.
- Technical expertise in security investigations, forensics and log analysis.
- Knowledge of attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures.
- Proficiency in coding or scripting in a general-purpose programming language.

Compensation & Benefits
Base compensation ranges from $147,000 to $208,000/year plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Actual compensation is based on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
