About the Product Designer Role at Meta

As a Product Designer at Meta, you will play a central role in building technologies, ensuring they are valuable, easy to use, and executed with the highest level of craft. You'll be involved in every aspect of the product development process, from initial brainstorming to launch, utilizing your full range of product design, interaction design, and visual design skills. You will also contribute to high-level strategic decisions with product and executive partners, joining a broad group of thinkers to do meaningful work. This posting represents different full-time roles across the Meta company.
Product Designer Responsibilities
- Take broad, conceptual ideas and transform them into useful and valuable experiences for over 2 billion users.
- Design flows and experiences that simplify complex actions into intuitive interfaces.
- Create new experiences or layouts that evolve and define visual systems.
- Contribute to strategic decisions regarding the future direction of Facebook products.
- Actively give and solicit feedback from designers and the broader product team to continually improve quality.
- Drive partnerships with product managers, engineers, researchers, and content strategists to oversee the user experience from conception to launch.
- Clearly and succinctly articulate goals and concepts when representing your work to the product team and leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience building and shipping multiple features that are broad/ambiguous in scope and encompass an end-to-end experience across various platforms.
- 4+ years of interaction design experience, with the ability to define how an experience should behave based on understanding people's needs and considering product scalability. Proficiency in using appropriate prototyping tools to demonstrate flows and interactions.
- 4+ years of visual design experience, demonstrating proficiency in typography, desktop/mobile UI, color, layout, iconography, and a strong aesthetic sense, understanding their impact on product function.
- 4+ years of strategic product thinking, with experience in developing product goals, identifying opportunities, and making decisions based on impact to users and the company.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience connecting your work with other related initiatives across the company, fostering collaboration.
- Examples of leadership in non-product dimensions that have strengthened a team and positively impacted the work environment, such as mentorship opportunities.
