About the Offensive Security Engineer Role
Meta's Offensive Security Group seeks an experienced Offensive Security Engineer to execute tactical offensive assessments, emulate threat scenarios, and drive remediations to improve security posture.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct offensive security engagements including Red Team operations and threat evaluations.
- Design, scope and lead complex technical assessments and Purple Team engagements.
- Automate assessment tasks and security work to drive engagements.
- Incorporate Threat Intelligence research to counter emerging APT trends.
- Collaborate with Incident Response, Product Security, and other teams for remediation.
- Develop internal relationships to enhance the impact of security initiatives.
- Influence strategy and prioritize long-term security projects.
- Coach and mentor team members for career development.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of experience with Red Team Security Testing, Penetration Testing, and/or Cyber Threat Hunting and demonstrated coding/scripting skills in one or more general purpose programming languages.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) and multiple operating systems (Linux, Windows, macOS).
- Work experience closely collaborating with defenders to resolve issues.
- Contributions to the security community through research, blogging, or bug bounty programs.
- Deep understanding of enterprise attack surfaces and certification such as OSCP.
- Proven track record in participating in Capture The Flag competitions.

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary ranges from $147,000/year to $208,000/year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
