The team also designs and drives cross-functional privacy initiatives, directly supporting Meta’s overarching compliance objectives.

As the Manager, Privacy Engineering, you will be instrumental in the growth and development of your team. This includes hiring and nurturing the skills of a healthy, high-performance team. Candidates should also possess experience in compliance and risk management, demonstrating a proven ability to collaborate with partners across the company to innovate and preserve the privacy of billions of users.

Manager, Privacy Engineering Responsibilities:

  • Support a team of Privacy Analysts in building data pipelines and developing complex SQL queries to achieve Meta’s compliance objectives.
  • Partner with Privacy Leadership and engineering leaders across the company to drive the development of Key Control Indicators and support regulatory response activities.
  • Provide leadership in developing and delivering innovative solutions to help enforce privacy practices with consistency and efficiency, at scale.
  • Work closely with both technical and non-technical teams, including Engineering, Product, and GRC.
  • Develop a roadmap for future work, meticulously track progress against it, and continuously evaluate the team’s performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science or an equivalent technical field of study, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 8+ years of work experience in data engineering, software engineering, or privacy/security engineering, including 3+ years of hands-on management of engineers and/or engineering managers.
  • Experience recruiting and managing technical teams, encompassing performance management.
  • Proven experience building relationships and influencing stakeholders across multiple disciplines.
  • Coding experience in at least one programming language.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience running operational teams.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating highly technical concepts effectively to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with Data Engineering concepts and practices (e.g., Data Pipeline Development, ETL).
  • Experience in compliance and/or risk management within a large organization.
