Job Description
Documentation Engineer/Technical Writer at Meta
Enterprise Products is seeking a Documentation Engineer/Technical Writer to join a global team of writers that documents tools and processes used within Meta. You will be responsible for the quality, discoverability, and accuracy of the content, enabling productivity at scale.
Responsibilities
- Design, create, curate, and maintain content for tools and processes used within Meta
- Develop content strategies that strategically integrate AI tools for creation, optimization, and distribution
- Plans content to be effectively consumed by both humans and AI systems (search engines, knowledge bases, RAGs, etc)
- Ensure the quality, discoverability, and accuracy of content
- Use metrics to monitor and improve overall content health
- Synthesize user needs, best practices, business priorities, engineering constraints, and other contextual information to formulate, articulate, and advocate for content-related decisions
- Build effective, collaborative relationships with Product Managers, Engineering, UX Designers, Support, and with your writing team colleagues
- Educate and train Engineers and other Meta employees to create useful documentation
- Foster a culture of documentation at Meta
- Create and maintain code samples and sample applications, as needed
- Monitor and respond to customers using a variety of mechanisms to address customer feedback and ensure that content meets their needs
- Setting priorities and escalating issues appropriately
- Apply knowledge of core AI concepts and technologies to real-world scenarios, clearly communicating their capabilities, limitations, and appropriate use cases to diverse audiences
- Communicating clearly and effectively with peers, colleagues, customers, and project teams
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience creating complex technical documentation for a variety of audiences
- Demonstrates proficiency in using varied AI-powered tools and platforms for documentation tasks
- Experience crafting effective prompts to interact with AI tools for documentation and everyday tasks
- Effective analytical and written communication skills
- Established record of project ownership, project management, and self-direction
Preferred Qualifications
- BA/BS in Computer Science or English or equivalent work experience
- Experience programming, using AI tools, trying out user interfaces, and working with prototypes in test environments
- Proven ability to develop, refine, and optimize prompts to achieve targeted goals and outcomes
