About the Role

The Application Security Engineer, Privacy at Meta will join the Privacy Incident Response Engineering team. This role is critical in identifying, scoping, containing, and eradicating real-world privacy threats. You will protect user privacy and security by triaging, mitigating, remediating, and learning from security/privacy incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Triage and fact identification by involving relevant experts.
  • Assess impact and follow facts uncovered in incidents.
  • Review incidents to identify root causes and contributing factors.
  • Apply technical understanding to ensure Meta learns from each incident.

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience in technical privacy or security engineering.
  • 2+ years experience coding in languages like Python, PHP, Java, C/C++.
  • Experience identifying, analyzing, and remediating privacy/security threats.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years in technical privacy or security engineering fields.
  • Contributions to the privacy/security community through research, blogging, or presentations.
  • Technical experience in areas such as Application Security or Privacy within a corporate setting.

Compensation

Base salary ranges from $117,000 to $173,000 per year plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
