Overview
The Application Security Engineer Privacy at Meta will protect user privacy and security by identifying, containing, and remediating privacy threats. You will work on triaging, mitigating, and learning from security and privacy incidents spanning across Meta's products and infrastructure, impacting billions of users.
Responsibilities
- Triage and fact identification: Engage the correct teams and assess incident impact.
- Mitigate and remediate incidents following thorough investigation.
- Document root cause and contributing factors for each incident.
- Apply technical insights to prevent the recurrence of incidents.
Minimum Qualifications
B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 2+ years of technical privacy or security engineering work (incident response, application privacy/security, offensive security). Solid coding skills in Python, PHP, Java, C/C++ (or equivalent) with code maintenance and review experience. Proven ability to identify, analyze, and remediate real-world privacy/security threats.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years in technical privacy or security engineering. Contributions to the privacy/security community via research, blogging, or presentations. Additional expertise in other privacy/security disciplines and strong corporate communication skills regarding technical issues.
