Recycling & Warehouse Associate at MERS/Goodwill
MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries is seeking an energetic, self-motivated, and professional Recycling & Warehouse Associate to join our Recycling & Warehouse - Mills team. Qualifications
- No degree is required; a High School Diploma/GED is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, customers, and management.
- Must be organized and capable of interacting with a diverse work population.
- Necessary math skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
- Handle all donations with care and respect.
- Unload inbound shipments safely and move products to designated areas.
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage; report quality variances.
- Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring exact numbers and product types are loaded and shipped.
- Perform picking duties efficiently to meet customer service standards.
- Efficiently move product from staging and storage areas into trailers.
- Sort donated goods and purchased goods into categories: sales floor, seasonal, online sales, salvage, and trash, according to established guidelines.
- Use machinery safely and appropriately to tip or compact designated products for sale or recycling.
- Maintain high quality and quantity standards while working quickly and steadily.
- Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
- Assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as required.
- Keep appropriate records and reports for tight inventory control and security.
- Safeguard company property and personal information from harm, damage, or theft. Report any incidents of theft, misappropriation, unethical/inappropriate behavior, or unauthorized possession of company property to management, Human Resources, Risk Management, or employee hotline.
- Adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
