Your Day to Day Life
We are looking for a Remote Auditor in USA. Your mission will be to conduct supplier evaluations at the points of manufacture, distribution, or delivery.
Position Summary
The primary responsibilities of this position is to conduct supplier evaluations at the points of manufacture, distribution, or delivery.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Conduct audits related to GMP/Food Safety Systems and/or GFSI benchmarked schemes (BRC, FSSC22000, SQF, IFS, GLOBALG.A.P.).
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all established procedures.
- Maintain applicable professional development for audit proficiency.
- Assure consistency and accuracy in all audits and audit reports, adhering to timelines.
- Follow all required protocols and procedures, maintaining cost effectiveness.
- Communicate reports and related information in a timely manner.
- Maintain all auditing equipment in working order.
- Organize all documents and standards received from Mérieux NutriSciences or clients.
- Support corporate quality and continuous improvement processes.
- Behave and operate in an ethical and Code of Conduct compliant manner.
Communication
This individual has regular contact with the Auditing Coordinator for schedules and client information, and the Regional Auditing Manager for technical questions. Occasional contact with the Director of Auditing Operations and VP of Technical Services is necessary for issue resolution. Frequent contact with clients and suppliers is required for audits and scheduling. Professionalism, tact, and persuasion are necessary when dealing with clients and violations.
Your Profile
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor of Science Degree in food science, microbiology, or related field.
- At least 5 years of work experience in the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of food science and quality assurance.
- Extensive experience with multiple food processing operations.
- Broad knowledge of GMP’s, food safety principles, HACCP, and relevant government regulations.
- Auditing experience in a food plant setting is necessary.
- Lead auditor training and training on CPO specific courses (SQF, FSSC, ISO, IFS, BRC, etc) is preferred.
- Strong self-discipline and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills for discussing audit findings tactfully and objectively.
- Strong computer skills for producing analysis of client data.
- Ability to ensure audits are performed and reports submitted within specified time frames and according to predetermined formats.
- Must be able to work autonomously and deal with situations diplomatically and professionally.
- Ability to interpret audit criteria and apply it to specific client situations.
- Good writing skills for clear and grammatically correct audit reports and non-conformities.
- Must be able to interpret the criteria of the audit and apply it to the specific client’s situation.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
This position requires extensive travel (80% +) across the US and occasionally to Canada. When not traveling, the incumbent works out of their home. Occasional exposure to laboratory fumes, chemicals, and materials may occur. The environment can involve noise, adverse smells, and extreme temperatures, requiring safety equipment. The individual must be able to climb stairs, walk the entire manufacturing facility, and execute audits in restricted zones. Requires ability to sit for extended periods, stand, and walk during site visits, and use hands to type, handle documents, and operate office equipment. Specific vision abilities required include close vision for reviewing documents and computer work.
Travel
- Frequent travel to client sites for audits (up to 80% of the time).
- Includes automobile and airplane travel, with overnight trips.
- Weekend travel may be necessary.
- Must be able to travel on short notice and work extended hours while on site.
Compensation Package Overview
Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 annually USD
Potential bonus: Up to 5% based on performance.
